Megan

I’m the baker behind BAKED with love,. I’ve been baking for as long as I can remember.  First with my family, who have owned bakeries since the 1500s, and then on my own.  My first job was as a cake decorator in a local deli when I was 16 and I never looked back.  I received my formal pastry training at The French Pastry School in Chicago, ll in 2011.

When I’m not baking, or thinking about baking, I spend time reading novels, doing crafts, or hanging with my family and friends.  I am so excited to get to share my bakes with the community.  My goal for each treat is to bring a smile, joy, and love.

Laura

I graduated from UNL with a degree in Hospitality, Restaurant and Tourism Management.  In 2011 I did an internship in France at the Cannes Film Festival and then traveled to Paris for a few weeks.  I easily fell in love with the city and discovered my love for macarons!

After college, I worked at JDRF for 9 years, raising money for Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) research.  This organization led me to meet Megan.  (did you know we both live with T1D) - and yes we eat sugar - just like everyone else!

My husband, Eric, and I have a 4 year old labradoodle, Chloe, and welcomed a sweet baby boy, Ben, into the world in August 2021.

BAKED with love, STORY

JDRF and Type 1 Diabetes brought us together.  After Laura left JDRF in 2020, she concluded she wanted to create something that was her own.  A business that embodied the compassion and love that she exemplified in her day-to-day work at JDRF.  The idea was to create a business where love was the center of everything we do.  The name With Love, was born.  Everything you do, do it With Love,.  When you give a gift you sign your name, With Love, - it was the perfect concept. In today's world we need to share the love and bring more joy to ourselves and others.

Beginning of 2021, Laura shared this business concept with Megan.  Megan had always wanted to open her own bakery but cared little for the business side of things.  She just wanted to spend her time in the kitchen.  It wasn't until December 2021, after Megan watched Shang-Chi, that the partnership was decided.  This partnership was a perfect match for both women to really excel at their strengths.

We look forward to creating scrumptious sweets and to share our love for this magnificent cookie. We hope our macs will create great memories and joyous moments for you!
